MEETINGS

Regular monthly meetings of the Society are held January through May, August through October, on the fourth (4th) Thursday of the month at 7:00p.m. at the Daughtry Foundation Building, 221 College St., Jackson, GA.  Meetings are published in the Jackson Progress-Argus prior to the meeting.  The month of January has been designated as the Annual Meeting.  Everyone is invited to attend.

PURPOSES

  1. Bring together those people interested in history, and especially in the history of
      Butts County, Georgia and the State of Georgia.

  2. Discover and collect any material which may help to establish or illustrate the history of the area.
 
  3. Provide for the preservation of such material and for its accessibility,
     as far as may be feasible, to all who wish to examine or study the material. 

  4. The Society will distribute historical information and attempt to arouse interest in the past.

  5. Cooperate with State Historical Society (State Historical Commission, or State Department of Archives and History)
     to collect and preserve materials and make available to the public.
